Responsibilities

  • Within the strategic markets, identify potential client and project targets, and conduct research to determine their viability for Flad.
  • Explore and develop a variety of lead sources for potential targets. Monitor trends and clients.
  • Work with the Regional Director and Marketing Director to develop strategies to cultivate targets. Identify the key decision makers in the client’s organization, potential competitors, and key issues.
  • Qualify the client and project lead. With the regional practice leader, determine if the client and their potential project align with Flad’s strategic positioning or will assist in ultimately achieving the strategic position. Determine timing for when this client will have project work to award. 
  • With the Regional Director and Marketing Director’s input, participate in the go/no-go decision making and capture planning process. 
  • Work with the Regional Director to develop the strategy for proposal (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) responses. This position will assist with the proposal development to ensure the document states what was communicated to the client and supports a customized proposal response. 
  • Work with the Director of Market Strategy to investigate and establish partnering opportunities with other professional organizations. Develop and maintain contacts with appropriate industry related individuals and subject matter experts.
  • Support Flad’s participation in trade shows, seminars and other speaking opportunities for firm members.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of relevant business development experience required. Experience within and/or knowledge of architecture, engineering, and/or construction field preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills required. Experience with InDesign preferred.
