Flad is a national architectural firm hiring a Healthcare Process Improvement Coordinator. Integrated with project teams, this role applies design research and process improvement to inform planning and design decisions for Flad’s innovative and award-winning healthcare practice. How will your days be spent

  • Coach and advise others on the use of improvement science and research methods and tools in healthcare planning and design.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, leadership, and project teams to augment planning and design processes with process improvement and research driven philosophies. 
  • Help plan and facilitate visioning, planning, and process improvement workshops and meetings with various stakeholders on clinical and operational performance.
  • Analyze current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help translate future process improvements into space needs and design.
  • Collect and analyze data regarding pre- and post-occupancy evaluations and other design research initiatives.
  • Analyze and interpret data to quantify improvement opportunities and results. Produce and present metrics and insights to help teams understand and apply the information.
  • Aid in proposal development for research, process improvement, and analytics services.

What you bring to this role

Experience:

  • Three years of recent and relevant healthcare experience in strategy, operations, process improvement, data analysis, research, architecture and design, or equivalent required. Five years preferred.
  • Able to be onsite with clients for data collection for a week at a time.
  • Experience with identifying tools and methods to analyze and visually communicate business problems and associated data.
  • Proficiency in searching and synthesizing information from external industry sources.
  • Background in healthcare operations, lean and process improvement facilitation, and/or architecture and design with the ability to apply insight from research, process improvement, and analytics to buildings and campuses preferred.

Software:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Visio, and Project required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SurveyMonkey, Power BI, and Tableau and/or other data analytics tools preferred.
  • Proficiency in simulation modeling preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, human factors, healthcare or business administration, design, design research, data science, analytics, or other related degree required.
  • Master of Science in related field preferred.
